I am currently writing my third novel, The Return Policy. It is a high-concept story along the lines of Matt Haig’s the Midnight Library but with a romantic theme. The story line is plotted out and I am over sixty thousand words in. I’m finding this is the most challenging of my novels to write as it contains some emotive themes including cancer. I am taking my time to write to get the right balance between drama and sensitivity.

Cover Design

I am also working on the cover design, tag line and blurb. Below is the results of my endeavors so far. Doubtless there’ll be some changes before publication.

I’m aiming to publish around the end of the year. In the meantime, here is a short extract to wet your appetite:

‘Funerals are dreadful affairs, but this one was a little different. The deceased had not died. Of course, only I knew that. For everyone else, it was real. After all, everything was as it should be: there was a death certificate, a body which was undoubtedly Morna’s and now a church full of mourners.’
